Ananya Sharma

I’m Ananya Sharma, the author and editor of CRSI Chemistry Symposium. I created this space to bring people closer to the ideas, discoveries, and conversations shaping chemistry today. I’m interested in how research moves from a careful question to a meaningful result, and how scientists learn from one another along the way. Through this site, I share a thoughtful perspective on chemical research and the people who make it possible, while welcoming readers at every stage of their scientific journey.
My coverage explores the breadth of chemical research, from foundational questions to emerging methods and applications. I value clear explanations that preserve scientific nuance, so I aim to give readers context for why a study matters, what its findings suggest, and what questions remain open. Chemistry is connected to health, materials, energy, the environment, and many other fields; I look for ways to illuminate those connections without losing sight of the evidence, uncertainty, and careful work behind each advance.
Medal lectures are a special focus because they offer more than a record of achievement. I see them as opportunities to understand the ideas, decisions, and collaborations that shape a research career. When I write about a lecture, I want readers to come away with a sense of its scientific contribution and the broader questions it raises. I also hope these stories encourage students and early-career researchers to see how persistence, curiosity, and generous exchange can contribute to progress in chemistry.
Poster presentations deserve equally attentive coverage. A poster can make complex work approachable and create the conditions for direct, lively discussion. I’m interested in the questions presenters invite, the methods they use, and the conversations that continue after someone stops to listen. By highlighting this part of symposium life, I aim to recognize emerging work and show how brief encounters can lead to useful feedback, fresh perspectives, and lasting professional connections.
As editor, I approach chemistry conferences as places where scientific collaboration becomes tangible. Talks, posters, informal conversations, and shared challenges all help researchers connect across specialties and institutions. I strive to make CRSI Chemistry Symposium informative, accessible, and respectful of the community it serves. My goal is to help readers follow important themes, discover voices and ideas worth exploring, and appreciate the collective effort behind scientific progress. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope this site supports your curiosity and your connections with the wider chemistry community.
